Eight years ago, I won the Iron Writer competition at AnthrOhio.

This past weekend I managed to do it again with this entry. The rules were:

It has to do with the theme Purranormal.
It should mention the charity, Ohio Nature Education.
It should also mention the GoH's, Moms of Furries and  TonyaSong
It should try and include paranormal places or creatures from Ohio.
It should try and include this phrases: "In fairness, we already knew our kids were pretty weird." and "Look how wonderful you are, shining brightly like a star, to us you're beautiful, tender, dear, just the way you are."

I decided to do it all, and throw it together. I wasn't sure how until I noticed another "rule": It should be kept under 1000 words. My devious mind had the hook.

So, here it is, the winning entry in the Iron Writer competition for AnthrOhio 2024:
