Surely a sign of the apocalypse. I actually finished writing something.

At any rate, for all intents and purposes, this is my first attempt ever at writing something. Which is a pretty bold-faced lie as I have written things before. But this is the first time I've actually been serious about submitting for criticism. Which I am looking for, both good and constructive criticism.

The goal was a short story. There's quite a few plot threads I do not realize in this story that I might at some point later. It is written in the voice of one of my favorite characters, Karci Rivale. Yes, she's human, but I prefer a non-racist approach to character creation. Just a day on the town with a couple funny situations and a lot of rumination on how magic in her world works.

I personally think it drags in some places. Maybe because I'm trying to explain in-depth concepts. But it's literally the first draft which I'm hoping to refine. So we'll see how that goes.
