Original Species: Greater Gworp (remake)
Oh my, look at the time! It's time for another REMAKE! Specifically remaking a creature I made back in October of 2021!
The Greater Gworp is a massive, elephant-sized bird native to the Continent of Vogelheim. It inhabits areas on the border between forests and open grasslands. At a mass of up to 6 metric tons, this avian behemoth has few natural predators to worry about (excluding the Crimson-Crested Death Beak and the occasional Aviatan).
This species shows clear sexual dimorphism, with males sporting a blue and black coloration, while females are more brownish and covered with bright spots. The less vibrant coloration helps the females blend in with the forest undergrowth while brooding.
The Greater Gworp is a herbivorous species. It uses its massive beak to deal with tough vegetation, including tree branches, conifer needles, nuts, pine cones, and tough fruit during the summer.
The Greater Gworp and other members of its genus are named so after the deep, rumbling call they produce. They can often be heard in late winter during their mating season.
