Originally Sachiko traveled to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon, but there were way too many other tourists there so she decided on a change of plans and a quick little detour. The Superstition Mountains are bit off the beaten path but the history of lost gold mines, mysterious deaths, lights in the sky, and things that go bump in the night is a perfect slice of Southwestern weirdness for the curious Kitsune.
Unfortunately no one was prepared for temperatures to reach 49 degrees Celsius and even testing modesty by opening the boob window on her kimono offered no respite. In the end a valuable lesson was learned. If you're going to pretend to search for Gold and goof off in the desert, bring something more than a sun hat and a bottle of water.
