So a fun retrofit, cat 308 coupler to slap on a yanmar VIO 70. Friend did a line bore, changing the pin holes from 45-50mm and cleaning up the whole thing nicely. Finally after a couple years of stalling I'm gonna send it. did a test fit on the stick and I need 1/2 inch more clearance, so removing 1/4 inch from each boss on the inside. Also had to trim the exterior bosses just a bit to make clearance for the thumb. Spanish Bridgeport clone and tool combination wasn't rigid enough to do a proper milling pass across the face, needed a long tool bit as the quill was running into the housing. Had another more experienced friend suggest that I try straight drilling operations with the end mill as the machine is more rigid in that direction. That worked well and a much higher production rate. Removed a good amount of metal. Once getting everything removed, seems most of the pins and bushings are tired, so new pins bushings and seals are on the way. Getting the bushings out of the stick wasn't too hard, add a couple hot weld beads and lets those shrink the bushings to loosen them, prior to that they laughed at a 5lb hammer and a big punch. I find it interesting is that the cat is a couple sizes bigger than the yanmar but everything is smaller on the cat.
