On another day, after finishing to eat dinner together, Charon brings up: "You know... Coeus told me about what kind of life you have been wishing for." "Well, being married to you is already fulfilling a big part of it.", Dione responds with a smile before the purple crocodile continues with sincerity: "Would you... want to start a family with me then? I would love to be the father of your children." Dione is flustered about it at first, though does show genuinely wanting that judging by her look and expression towards her husband, so she lets Charon know: "I would love that too.", making him tell her: "Whenever you're ready."

However, when Dione takes a pregnancy test a few weeks later, it turns out to be negative. Though Dione does another test several more weeks later, only for that to also turn out to be negative. After telling her reptilian partner about that, Charon suggests: "Don't let it get to you, okay? We'll... simply try again." But what follows is more negative pregnancy tests.
So they go to Chronotytonida's hospital to get both of them checked regarding their ability to produce offspring. When getting the results, the doctor responsible for that tells them how it is: "I'm sorry to bring you those news, but.. Well, Charon there is perfectly capable of producing offspring. However... Dione, you are infertile. So... sadly, you can not get pregnant." "I... I can't have a child of my own?...", Dione doesn't like learning about that, considering how much she wishes to be a mother. Though her husband tells her: "We're not gonna give up that easily. We still have options, Dione. I want to make you happy..."
So what follows is the couple seeking out whatever medication or treatment could get them to fulfill their desire to start a family, with even Coeus getting involved as his specialty is biology after all. Additionally, since Tethys literally works in an orphanage, they start to consider adotion as well, so that Tethys gets the adoption process ready for them. With all those things, something's gotta get them their wish of a child fulfilled after all. But it all comes to a halt when...

...the for them responsible doctor at the hospital tells them much worse news: "There's... really no good way of putting this. Dione, I have been... informed that we aren't allowed to aid you in this any longer. I also have to let you know that even if you would adopt a child, you wouldn't be allowed to keep it." "Excuse me, what?...", Dione can't even believe that at first, so the doctor explains to her and her lover: "Apparently... you have very recently been marked as someone who would be a danger to children, which, obviously, even I can tell is ridiculous, but my hands are tied." Charon points out to that: "This is all just... so wrong.", but the doctor assures them: "Unfortunately, it couldn't be any more official and to have any chance of genuinely proving it to be really untrue, you'd probably have to track down whoever changed the info about you to such a big lie, something I'm... legally not allowed to help with whatsoever." "Well...", Charon still tries to be kind to the doctor, "Thanks for letting us know, at least..." "Who would do this to me?...", Dione questions, not feeling great with how much things are turned against her in this situation.

But the hyper intelligent Coeus is on it right away when he learns of that turn of events from them. He also contacts some space warrior named Aka for additional help, to get info he'd otherwise be unable to get at all. Meanwhile Tethys and Oceanus try to see if they can pull some strings as the rulers of Achelous City but that's to no avail. With Coeus's contact to Aka combined with Coeus's extremely high intelligence, soon enough the male anthro moth can establish a meeting for Dione with the person who is responsible for the lie about her. Must be someone pretty significant to be able to pull strings like that.

The meeting ends up being on a planet called Talihsizlik, which is a planet with thirteen small moons, with the planet itself having rock formations that look oddly much like giant ravens, with some of these having rock salt as part of the natural structure. The planet itself is covered with very black soil and has no inhabitants. It's here that Dione, brought here via Coeus's spaceship, meets the one responsible for the lies. It's a female Farigiraf who has a symbol on her hip, that symbol being the web of wyrd, a Nordic symbol relating to fate. "Ah, Dione... so we actually meet in person.", the giraffe-like Pokémon responds to seeing the anthro moth approach her, "I am... the personification of destiny." "Not the craziest thing I've heard of, for sure...", Dione replies, though she can almost even feel that this presence here is truly destiny itself, making her believe the Normal and Psychic Type Pokémon opposing her.
Dione gets right to why she wanted to meet her, wanting to know: "Why... Why did you make up such a lie about me?... Why won't you allow me to be fully happy?...", to which Destiny reveals: "Because... being Destiny, I know that... in any universe where you get to have children... the children always die young, it's something meant to happen, you... are never meant to keep any of your children, you are never meant to see them survive and grow up. So... I decided to not let you go through that pain by not letting you get to the point of having children to begin with." "I... It's... It's my destiny to be unfulfilled?..." "I wouldn't put it that way but...", Destiny responds, "...you're not wrong. I'm sorry." Dione just stands there, struggling to accept that this is something she cannot change no matter what she would try. Can't be any more set in stone than being part of her destined path after all.

Dione is completely distraught how one of the things she desired so much to be part of her life, to be a mother herself, is made impossible no matter what she would try, crying to herself in the house she shares with her husband, with Charon trying to comfort her, holding her close and being there for her, as much as he can. But no comforting can fix this. Even destiny itself is against her attempts of living a happy and fulfilling life. She is just... that unlucky.
