while making the previous lola turntable i found that designing swimsuits is quite ... interesting ;)

Shadow's base mesh is quite light in the poly count. To extract that mesh for the swimsuit, I will agree the poly count is going to be up there bit.
But Z can handle quite a few polys with a decent system running it. Where the problems arise will be in exporting this mesh back to Maya or your
favorite 3D app for rendering in another engine. ( Vray, Mental Ray, etc ) Unless you hit it with the Decimate plugin that is :D
Considering the results Shadow is getting with using Z as the render engine, the export probably isn't necessary.
Nice swimsuit design btw Shadow :D

hi, the complete model ( including all seperate parts / subtools ) has just 2 million polys. (the swimsiut has 300.000 ) that is not much in zbrush when you consider that even my NOT high-end system can handle up to 4 million poly PER SUBTOOL. ( with more than 5 million in the active subtool i usually find myself crashing back to the desktop... )
Good Lord... that's more polygons than I've ever handled. I think my last major character model stayed under 1,000 polys all told (but then, I depend a lot on subsurf to pick up my slack...). I've only got 512mb DDR, and Blender seems to be able to produce several million faces in the viewport without much trouble. I should probably pick up my vert count if I want better results.
The low res model is in very good condition. It's rather well done actually. Kick on
the subdivision smoothing and you'll have a model that is every bit as accurate as
the renders you're seeing here. If you want to get into that excruciating detail level
like the texture on the swimsuit, you're gonna need to load it into Z-Brush, Mudbox,
or similar sculpting program.
I downloaded it, imported it into Softimage and made a wallpaper render from it.
In fact, I'm using the model itself as a means to practice with rigging and weight
painting. It's also interesting to see what Shadow actually modeled out and what
your eyes think was modeled out.
Very nicely done imo.
In case you're looking for another character to tackle there Shadow. . . I have two
words for you:

very nice work on this. i really like her backside; the shape and the lighter patch are very appealing. i rather like these swimsuits too; they seem pretty stylish, and i rather like the idea of the more full bodied ones (as with the next image) too - i wonder why more things like that aren't available in stores.
