So most of the work that I have been doing on the fox model in the past few days (albeit little) has mostly been internal. In other words, doing shots like I have been would be pretty futile. This is most of what I have been doing: the teeth.
It is not entirely complete--in fact, I discovered a few adjustments that needed to be made as I prepared the model for this shot--but this is pretty close to how the teeth will look for the final model. My references were mostly from skulls of gray foxes (Urocyon cinereoargenteus) with a few live references, but while I tried to pay attention to the general shape of the teeth, I skimped in places because: 1. most of these will be invisible most of the time as evidenced by the live shots, 2. I had a hard time finding suitable references to get exact dimensions of some of the teeth relative to the others, 3. most people probably would not be able to pick out inaccurate dentition anyway, 4. while I am trying to pay attention to proper anatomy, that does not mean it has to be absolutely perfect, and 5. modeling at such a small scale is a pain in the rear.
Nobody has really seen it yet, but I will have to rework the interior of the mouth so that he gums can connect to it, and so that the tongue has somewhere to go when it is not hanging out. However, this has still been quite fun, if a little challenging. <:
Made with Autodesk Maya 2012. Yep, I started using my 2012 because I wanted to test backwards compatibility and... it really is not, even worse than previous years. Too bad. Not a big deal though.
