I really like this piece. It reminds me of someone having multiple sides to their spirit and how sometimes integrating all of those parts into your personality can sometimes be difficult. Personally this meaning means a lot to me (bad wording, but I suck at picking the right words). +fav a lot.
You already have a light source.
Highlights can be a little tricky, so I suggest adding shadows and play with that first. It is an easy way you can push things in space within your image that way. You can also be surprised how dark you can get, too. :)

Is this... like... some split-personality-type-thing? For you, I mean. You seem to have an affinity for both dragons and canine/wolf species, and it reflects highly in your character, I find. (The Zarathus DOES kinda look like a wolf and a dragon got together on a cold autumn night to keep each other warm... alcohol may have been involved... during said occasion.) O.=.o
