Returning to Ancient Egyptian Mythology is a little different than revisiting Greek Mythology. It’s always like greeting an old friend. It was probably my first theme I really latched into (before Merfolk, and after I moved on from dinosaurs). I had an old book of the myths, and used to try to teach myself the hieroglyphs (though the actual language was/ is far beyond me.)

So this month we’ll reach back to the ancient days of Khem, and revisit the creatures of myth and antiquity. I’ve been a bit hesitant to return as a full - theme, as the interest or knowledge of their pantheon and creatures doesn’t seem as popular as greek or other mythologies, but it’s about four years since I did the theme, so it’s time.

As in the past the creatures/tfs don’t have to be explicitly from Ancient Egypt, but do need to be atleast inspired or influenced by it! So peer into those crypts, and open those vessels. Will you explore the mysteries of the sphinx, fall under the sway of the entities of desert, or delve the ruins of a long forgotten pharaoh? Will you be an undead monster, or another alligator in Sobek’s pond? Perhaps an avatar of Anubis, or a victim of Set! Whether in the depths of the Duat, or soaring beneath the sun, it’ll be a blast!
