Named with her mother, Vendear's, sense of humor in mind, poor Gladis was made fun of throughout school for sounding and acting not unlike an oversized computer. No one expected the little vulcan girl to enter the Starfleet academy, and then to speed through it, and graduate to ensign after only 2 years. She also did something else surprising.
She got traditional Romulan tattoos, following after her mother's heritage. Yes, Vendear was half Romulan, which makes her daughter a fourth romulan... Sarek... she believes, anyway, does not know this, which makes the tattoos a little annoying to her mother...
