I hope you enjoy!
Obviously, some jokes aged poorly, but considering how harsh were the 90s in Brazil, they perfomed extremely well. Other than that (and the fact that their demise was totally "a day that music died" and a horrible collective trauma that I can't afford to talk in lenght in English, actually barely in Portuguese, so that's a limit I want to put here.), the band is incredibly cool. Fantastic musicians - Bento Hinoto in particular was a master at guitar, but also SΓ©rgio and THE ABSOLUTELY YOUNGSTER OF A UNIT CALLED SAMUEL REOLI. So young and so GOOD playing the bass!

Sorry I typed "post comment" too early, I have more to say!
They managed to mix rock with a big array of other music styles, including "romantic pagode" that was a VERY discriminated genre way back during the 90s. "Jumento Celestino", that mixes forrΓ³ (a Northeastern (NE) Brazilian rythm, and NE Brazilian people are also heavily discriminated in SE Brazil) is flawless. Keep in mind that vocalist Dinho was born in NE (Bahia) and the father of Reoli brothers too (Pernambuco), so they're pretty much talking about their own tragedies.
Again, some of the humor is offensive and aged poorly (much like happened with any 90s media, including Star Trek). But offense was the rule in 90s Brazilian humor, and in fact most of Mamonas humor was mostly in a dadaist key we can say - they played with the notion of linear time, they impersonated tables and lamps, they hugely mentioned series and cartoons, and so on.
In short - some of the finest examples of Brazilian art, in all its contradictions *chef's kiss*. I can't talk enough about them.
