Who could say no to that smile~?_______________________________________________________________________It'd been quite a stressful time for you as of late; you'd been swamped with work for quite a while now, but eventually, you've managed to get it all done faster than the tasks come to you, and now that you're all caught up and had your payday and time off, you decided you definitely needed a vacation to alleviate some tension. It was summer, so working in the heat of the baking sun didn't really do you any favors- what better than to take an island getaway trip for the time being? With your trip booked and your belongings packed, driving to the airport, the slog of TSA's usual procedures being the last bit of stress you hope to endure, hopping on the plane and eventually touching back down and making your way to your hotel of choice, you decide to spare no extra time. Once you were all checked in, you were immediately off to the nearest beach!
As expected, the place was absolutely packed. Tons of folk- both tourists and locals- of many different species. Thankfully there were a few spots still open on the coast to park, and to get situated. The water felt delightful and relieving as you'd probably have expected, and the coast was wide enough that you had plenty of space to splay out and relax. The people nearby didn't pay you much mind, and vice versa... until you caught a glimpse of someone holding a large pooltoy orca, with... a few too many legs under the water. Creeping closer in hopes of not alerting this person, upon closer inspection, you soon realize the silhouettes were actually tentacles, no- they were certainly fake- but, no, they were real... their distinct movements signified it! Being a mainlander, someone- or something- like this was entirely alien to you, and as such, the realization sends your mind spinning, tons of thoughts of fear, disgust, and/or intrigue at what you were witnessing. You weren't thalassophobic, but you've never seen a hybrid quite like this, especially not right in front of you. The slow, gentle movements of each individual tendril was almost hypnotic, to the point where you failed to realize that the person they belonged to noticed your fixation on them. A slight chuckle from them would shake you out of your self- inflicted trance...
"Hey there, don't think I've seen you around here before. Something... got your attention~? The octo- hybrid would tease, blepping with a sly smirk.
You'd sputter a bit and blush a little, embarrassed. You'd shyly nod your head, unsure of what to really say in front of such a being, lightly gesturing down at the tentacles splayed out from his torso.
He'd snicker lightly. "Ahh, you've never seen an octo- hybrid before? Yeah, I take it you're a tourist, but even then, I can't say I really blame you. Our species is rather rare, though I am known around here amongst the locals, so there's that, at least!"
Your gaze was slowly drawn back down to the tendrils while he chatted. You were sure they weren't even hypnotic, something was just... wrong with you at the moment. This interaction seemed a bit rude, and you needed to take your mind off of this wondrous new species of sorts and focus on alleviating yourself, but even so, your fascination at the moment seemed boundless.
The water would lightly splash around your torso as some of those same tendrils snap you out of a second trance. "Heeeey, my eyes are up here, silly. I can tell you may be going through some things internally, and I don't mind being a point of interest. I can leave you be if you'd rather distract yourself with the ocean itself, or... I could perhaps offer a more hands- on form of exposure therapy..."
Now you REALLY weren't sure what to do. Either choice could leave you potentially regretful of what you might miss out on, be it discovery or relaxation. You just met this person, but for some reason, something about them almost compelled you to trust them, and even so, they were offering you a choice only you could make. What will you do...
Thankfully, regardless of what you may choose to do, you didn't seem to notice the particularly humanoid- shaped silhouette within the inflatable orca he was carrying with him.~_______________________________________________________________________
