I wasn't so much thinking of other features that would make him creepier so much as having lighting and shading that would do it. Originally my plan was to have him very silhouetted with the bright reflection in his glasses being the only real details, but I just couldn't make that look good. Although, I have to admit that I do rather like your idea of a raven on his shoulder.
