Yah, the Nagant's strong points are more that its hard to damage and relatively easy to make over ergonomics.

Mosins have been dumped in huge numbers in the US. They're dirt cheap. Unless that's a genuine sniper model ... those are often imitated, but the real ones are quite valuable.

Original scope/mount too?

No, the scope and mount are postwar manufacture. Can't say as I mind though, as the postwar PU scopes are of better manufacture thanks to the lack of production shortcuts that compromised quality.

I always check the table of Nagants at gun shows to see if I can find one with the filled scope mount drillings for cheap.
I've seen a lot of dealers just install scopes on regular 1891/30's and add $300 to the price for those looking for a "sniper rifle".

I've seen those but this one is exact, down to the right type of screws. It's just that something happened to the original mount
