Third Place
Coming in third place, TommyFox showed everyone a polished, professional tune. 'I will be Okay' is a rose tinted homage to isolation and loneliness, where sad self reflection is punctuated by genuine hope and optimism. The tactful execution of the overall theme while under a time constraint has only solidified this fox as a truly talented musician in our community!

Second Place
In close second, Noneuclideangarf shared with us their innovative take on EDM with the song 'BIG CHOMP'. Technically fascinating, meticulously detailed, and highly textural, it took us several incredibly enjoyable re-listens to properly traverse the floors of this triumphant tower of layering.

First Place
And finally, the song the community loved by a landslide, Felix_the_Coyote's heart-tugging tune 'Desperation'! In a one-minute tour de force of layered pianos and strings, Felix took us and the community on a sobering trip through the emotional depth of one's want to impress and be seen- a relatable sensation best dissected through music, and best executed by talents like this coyote! We look forward to what you have in store for us next, critter!

I'm honestly so honored to have won. Every year for 8 years I had seen this contest and never entered because I was convinced I had no chance of winning among such distinct talent. I decided to do it on a whim this year, just to see what would happen, and I never expected to even get to the semi-finals, let alone win the whole thing. To be up here with such incredibly talented musicians is just unreal.
Thank you, Furry Musicians, for running this contest, and thank you all for your support.
Please be sure to take a look at all the musicians' songs, by the way. Regardless of placement, everyone should be proud just for having made something from the soul. I heard so many wonderful pieces throughout this!

I know you guys have real lives, but the next Express Yourself, can we get it done in less than 6 months?
If the Express Yourself were the only thing you did, that wouldn't matter, but when you have the Spotlight, that has a turnaround time of two weeks, that leaves a lot of music from January to May with no way to be spotlighted.
UNLESS...
You continued the spotlight while Express Yourself was going on.

Valid criticism. I think what I'd like to do next year is omit one of the rounds. That means less will qualify for the voting segments, but the overall process will speed up. I'd like the EYC to be three months long, instead of six. Me and the team are assessing our options.
