Indeed. Dragons tend to protect their treasure, which comes in all shapes, sizes, and forms.
And the most valuable treasure of all, comes in the form of a friend or family member. Whether dragon or human, dog or cat, or any other sentient/sapient being or pet beast.
To me, and to those whom I care for, friends and family are more valuable than my entire hoard. So of course I tend to be protective of them. Sometimes over-protective.
And I get worried about them too. Mostly over-worried.
