I did not get to play the first game, but I did play Super Mario Galaxy 2 and loved it a lot! The music was perfect and the game play was a lot of fun. (You also got to ride with Yoshi in Super Mario Glaxy 2, which made it extra fun for me.).

Yes. I played both games. Really really amazing ones nwn. Yoshi was cool in the second game, but the first one was a bit more special for being so original and fun. The music is one of the best things ever made.
Without a doubt one of the best videogames ever made, except according to IGN who decided that the game deserved only a 9/10 because of a children book tale inside of the game.
