Meet the Rejects Cast No.2
Blaire Osborne
Age: Early 20’s
Sex: Female
Species: Eurasian Lynx
Occupation: College Student/Musician
Bio:
Blaire Osborne has never felt like she truly belonged anywhere, and with all the moving around she’s had to do on behalf of her parent’s careers, one could say she hasn’t even had a true hometown. Her sense of disconnection with the world and its people is strong, making her a lifelong social outcast everywhere she’s lived. This is very apparent in the long list of tracks she’s written with her band “Suburban Wasteland”
Born to two US Air Force officers on a base in Okinawa, she learned very early on that life isn’t fair, as she could never get attached to anything or anyone. By the time she was 13, she had lived in three countries, five states, and countless towns she can’t remember the names of. All she had to keep herself company was her art and music, which often reflected her inner feelings. It wasn’t until much later in her life that the Osborne family finally settled in Rhode Island, but even then, she had a hard time feeling like it was a home. When her teenage years rolled around, her busy parents began largely leaving her to her own devices while they worked late into the night. This sense of unbridled freedom led her to getting into the local punk scene, with a fateful ‘American Hi-Fi’ show serving as the catalyst for her transformation into who she is today.
–
Personality:
Once used to a life of rigid rules and standards, Blaire never got to herself as a person until she entered her teenage years, when she was more or less forced to fend for herself. All alone and trying to make sense of a world she didn’t understand, bands like ‘Green Day’, ‘Sum-41’, ‘My Chemical Romance’, and ‘A Day to Remember’ spoke to her on a spiritual level, and have very much shaped her into the young woman she is today. Her tough, tomboyish exterior is easily noticeable, as well as her social awkwardness that has gained her few friends. While she has a few friends she keeps close, she largely exists in the background of every place she finds herself.
Blaire is a very introverted girl, an aspect of herself that she largely conceals when she’s in public. When not alone honing her skills on art or music, Blaire prefers to spend time in the company of one or two at most, and rarely more. But when she gets in the zone, things can change very quickly, and her more social side that many have grown to love comes out. Now on the cusp of graduating college, Blaire’s feelings of existential dread are at an all time high. The ambiguous nature of getting by in a world where she’s always felt out of place is never not on her mind, and the clock is ticking. While she often talks a big talk about how she’s independent and okay with being all alone, deep down, she longs for a connection, and to finally be understood, but this is more easily said than done in the New England suburbs she calls home.
