Kathy sighed, her nose flush with warmth and pollen. Lazily cracking her eyes, she rolled upright, tucking a knee against her chest as she glanced across the prairie. The sun bore down in all its splendor, yet the heat only tickled -- a blessing before the dog days arrived.
Movement flashed. A pair of petal wings fluttered along the heights of the surrounding flowers. As Kathy watched, she smiled, even as the creature ascended along her towering form and idled along her nose. She extended a finger, letting the insect prod her clawed digit before settling on the tip. It flexed its wings in idle rest, and Kathy mirrored the gesture with her ears.
A little guest...at this size, anyway.
