Ooh, pretty! I love all the spots and stripes in their fur. I've always liked the idea of tribal body paint, and it's amazing how intricate and complex some of the stuff that was done in real life could be. It really adds a lot to this piece, and of course it looks really pretty, too. I've always liked your tribal work, too. I've always thought you handled it with a certain grace and without letting it dip into any real stereotypes. I mean, when you think tribal there are always a few cultures you're going to think of, and I've always thought there was a strongly Celtic flavor to your tribal work. Which makes sense given your state influences. But you keep it creative and do a lot of work to make it your own, and that's really nice to see. As always I love their outfits, and especially all the little trinkets and bits of jewelry they're wearing. The linked arms is a really sweet gesture, too. Just that one little gesture says how inseparable these two really are.
As always, thanks for the wonderful comment. :) I do try to maintain an element of fantasy with my work, since who are we to know what sort of world these characters live in? So I do avoid making them look too much like any specific culture, instead taking cues from many. ^_^ In this case, the body paint made me think of the aboriginals from Australia and also some of the tribes of Africa. :)
Good question. lol I would think a given dye would probably work on *most" fur, but then you gotta figure some creatures have fur or feathers that are meant to resist water, and that might make things difficult. Who knows?...By the way, I've seen people dye their cats all these wierd colors...looks neat but at the same time, I sorta go "whyyyyyy?" lol
Yeah, the same thing if you dyed your dog to. It just seems so weird and almost mean to dye their furr. I guess though with Anthros you'd end up probably with something like water based and oil based dyes sort of thing. I could be completely wrong on how it works but the idea is there.....Ya know I've never really seen a tribal bird. Would they wear a head dress of their own feathers? or someone else's?
