These little guys are from planet Umyos, the same world these aliens are from. They're called bat-mice because their large ears and squashed noses gives them a bat like face. Although bat-gerbil would have been more accurate.

The female is larger and more brightly colored then the male. That's because on Umyos the females are more dominant and showy then the males. The males are more choosy about their mate, but they also get pushed around by the females. Sort of the opposite gender roles compared to Earth.

And yes, they have five eyes. All the advanced life forms on Umyos have five eyes, but the top three are usually small occuli, they're unusually large on the bat-mice.
