The family consisting of Dione, Coeus, Tethys, Oceanus, Charon, Pallas and the newly added robot girl moth Higeki now hear tumult going on outside so they all get out of the house to check on what's going on, with Oceanus already being outside to begin with. People there are looking at the sky which seems to... get erased, just being replaced with absolute nothingness? It's a trippy sight for sure. "Yeah, that's not normal.", Charon remarks on that. The sounds of confusion among the people here turns to sounds of fear as their own home planet Hetrocera quickly starts having chunks of it fade away like that too. Coeus quickly leads all of them to his spaceship, though Oceanus decides to stay behind to see if he can get some people to safety by taking advantage of his enormous size.
With the whole group including Higeki but excluding Oceanus in Coeus's spaceship now, they quickly fly off the planet. Coeus has to just hope for the best then though since the space around Planet Hetrocera seems to quickly fade into non-existence, so he has to inevitably fly through that true nothingness. As he does so though, that nothingness seems to essentially "eat away" at his spaceship, as it quickly gets "consumed" by the erasing force too. "No no no!", he reacts to this as the others in the group also realize how screwed they are. Only a couple of seconds later, the spaceship with everyone in it ceases to exist in this universe which itself ceases to exist not much later.

In the library, as Dione is consciously there again now, she sees the book in her paws just finishing to fade away. Well, that explains that experience... but there is still no explanation given as to why not just the books in here but seemingly entire universes are getting erased while she is in this library. Persephone behaves as if trying to figure this out herself, telling the female anthro moth: "I'm on it, okay? As I told you, I'm trying to figure out what's going on already." "Higeki...", Dione then mumbles, realizing that she had just learned to appreciate what she had only for it to be taken away this suddenly. Bad luck just seems to follow her everywhere, even in all those other lives.
Part 9 - Getting old
(Now playing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnFDsYCtXhw)
Heart, Spade, Club, Diamond, Jolly and Ace enter the library, with Heart shyly questioning: "H-How are we gonna find Dione inside here?...", while Ace the Meowscarada remarks: "Getting here feels like we noticably approach the end of this little adventure... or whatever to call it." Ah yes, approaching the end of things, something comparable to getting old. Anyway, Jolly then notes: "There seem to be books that were taken out and put back in. I'm saying that since the books are put quite perfectly into the shelves, so the imperfections of any person taking it out and putting it back in is just noticable enough to me... W-We can use that as a trace!" Diamond can agree with that: "Pretty easy to conclude that the books relate to Dione in some way, yeah.", so the six magicians begin following that trail, knowing they should be able to find that moth girl that way.

Meanwhile Dione attempts to take another book but it fades away in her paws before she can even get into the life contained in it. She questions: "Persephone, what's going on?", who just tells her: "Dione, I... I don't know either." Dione can tell though that something big is happening, as clearly the individual universes in this multiverse are getting erased, seemingly at an increasingly faster pace too, evident through it becoming impossible for Dione to ignore at this point. "You gotta know something, Persephone... Something about this... You can't be completely clueless while being at a place like this..." Persephone pauses as if to think some before finally bringing up: "Cronus... Cronus is the one likely responsible for this." "Cronus?" "Cronus was locked away for a long time... only to be released again by the hands of Team Infamy. He is a planet-sized uhh... feline dragon thing. And he is incredibly dangerous and powerful. So I think... he might just cause all but one universe to cease to exist, all but the one he came from. No need for any of the others anymore to him after all..."
That makes Dione then question: "But how come that only one Cronus would be the issue then? With the multiverse being real... there's gotta be a lot of them after all, right?" But the anthro deer with her remarks: "Well... the Cronus from the universe of your first life is different, actually. You see... he is aware of the nature of this whole reality, making him very much an anomaly in the multiverse, as he gained that awareness by himself, something that was never meant to happen. Something that was impossible to happen... in every universe out there except for your original one. He... and that particular universe... are the anomaly in the multiverse.
Dione is a bit confused about that awareness thing, so Persphone gives a comparison to make it easier to understand for her: "Imagine it like... a character in a story who realized being just a character in a story, potentially without the writer's intent. That's probably the best comparison to use. Though in this case... it's like the worst possible outcome for that kind of scenario, considering how much of a threat Cronus would have already been either way." Dione looks concerned, understandably, and wants to know: "Is there nothing we can do?...", so Persephone tells her: "Way back then... long before being released by Team Infamy, Cronus was locked away by four powerful individuals: Zeus, who is corrupted by his own narcissism nowadays, Poseidon, who is dead because of getting killed by Zeus, Hades, who nobody knows where he is anymore, and some unknown fourth person. Corrupted, dead, missing and unknown, respectively. So those guys clearly can't help anymore. But... there was one more chance, in fact it's what happened in every other universe where Cronus became a threat, that being the half demon named Lucy, though a journey of an angel named Themis and the sacrifice of Gaia, the mother of Themis, was neccessary to get Lucy back into the picture to face off against Cronus. In any other universe... Lucy ultimately succeeded against Cronus... except for the one your first life took place in. Because that's the one with the... anomaly. And now... Cronus seems to be destroying every universe except that one, likely just because he doesn't deem any of the other universes worth existing."
Considering Lucy was clearly the last chance they had against that major antagonist, Dione questions with even more worry: "So... that means Cronus is doomed to succeed in the anomaly universe?..." Though Persephone delivers the bad news: "Oh, Dione... he essentially already had. He killed Arceus and destroyed the entirety of Heaven to get energy he needed for his intentions... and now it is literally just a matter of time until he has gained full control over his universe thanks to that."
Dione further now realizes what the destruction of every other universe in this multiverse means: "... The death of essentially an infinite amount of people... the death of... so many people that it's truly incomprehensible... And judging by what you told me... there is nothing that can be done about it anymore... I... No, I... can't just wait and watch all of it go away like that! Persephone, there must be some life of mine where Coeus learns of the anomaly in my original universe, right? Somewhere there's gotta be a version of him who finds out some way to deal with it after all, considering his extremely high intelligence! We can't just give up like that!", so the female anthropomorphic Rosy Maple Moth then immediately starts looking for a book where that's the case, all while the speed at which parts of the library fade away slowly increases.
Not much later, she opens another book, with a life that had similar enough choices to the one she just went through for it to get to the same point of the robot she named Higeki being given to her. So we can essentially just continue on right from that point in time, due to how similar of a universe it is.
