Dude...this story...this story...It was amazing! I really enjoyed the ending and what Cody got to experience. I would honestly be happy if this ever happened to me, even if my life isn't in shambles right now. Perhaps it's just the inner furre in me that is blocking out what the human side does or doesn't want.
Onecho,
I want to start by apologizing to you for not having heard of you until only a week or so ago. My buddy Shrike Fox mentioned this story as being "The Babyfur Story that ALL others are Compared Against" and with a boast like that I had to read it. You see I fancy myself a bit of a Babyfur writer myself and if my attempts are being compared to this lone story I figured I ought to know what I'm up against.
After having read your offering, I have to admit I can't get Cody out of my head, and the similarities between his Rusty and my own Wiley are uncanny. :) I can't tell you how many "unhappy, orphan human transplanted into a cub's body in alternate an reality" stories I've had the pleasure to read; but I can say that I found your approach refreshing.
The inner conflict between souls, the growth of the main character, the inner journey, friends and family, were all quite believable and I was able to suspend reality quite easily as I read it. Initially I was put off by the sudden jumps forward in time, but as I continued reading it presented an opportunity to move the story along without slogging through the day by day routine.
While the ending was transparent, though I was intrigued enough to entertain the main character choosing the other path, the way it was presented was adeptly written and emotionally charged. Yes, I had to wipe away a tear or two. The epilogue was a nice touch. I tend to leave my stories open ended to allow the reader to envision their own future for the main character; but I may consider an Epilogue such as what you did as an option to stories which warrant it.
So, in the end, an excellent story, one I may even read again should time allow. I can see why it is so well regarded. I understand you have recently finished up a sequel and I look forward with anticipation to reading that as well.
Thank you for sharing a little of yourself and your imagination through your talented writing.

Thank you for giving this such a thorough read-through. I am glad the character developments and such moved you.
Yes, the ending was a bit transparent, something I feel was improved upon in 'Red Sentience' and, even more so, in the third installment, which I will be posting within a few weeks. And Rusty still has a role in this part as well ^_^
Thanks again for you very thoughtful and kind words!

All done, Amazing story writing bro. Awesome vocabulary perfect everything as far as I'm concerned. This story was right up there with any of the best stories (diaper related) That I have had the pleasure of reading to date. I have what I think is an odd ability to put myself in the shoes of the characers of the story I'm readingAlmost like living it throught their eyes(XD I'm weird I know) Your story allowed for this almost seamlessly. Idon't wanna appear long-winded so I'll end it with this: Awesome story, very well executed, and very cute characters. I will be continuing on to read the next installments.
Wow how do i sum this up in only a few words. Your story has show how good babyfur stories can get. The way you wrote this story has given a new prespective on the way the stories can be told. I honestly can't stop reading it and i will most likey feel the same way about your sequels red sentience and white starlight when i read them. Ths story filled me with an emotion up until now i have not displayed while reading a story of this type. Joy absolute joy you are a very talented writer and quite possibly author of babyfur stories i have encounter to date. Bravo you deserve all the priase you get onecho "claps"
SO YOU are the author of this story!!! I was very impressed with this, this had every element and was incredibly sweet. I constantly reread this one, you did an amazing job!
If you continue writing, I look forward to reading with whatever you come up with! This is one of the best cub stories I have read in my life if not at the very top.

I'm surprised I haven't commented on this before and though you've been told many times, this is one of the best "cub" stories I've ever read. I had first read it on Jade's site a while back. It had a good balance of every emotion and motivation one would read something like this for. Page 46 with Kyle's family portrait made me cry and really tied not only the story, but my own feelings and cub-self together. This is a long story and you clearly put so much effort into it! I know these parts of our lives aren't always our proudest but you should know you are an amazing writer, and I look forward to reading the next two.
I'm super late on this but I just have to say that this is an amazing stories and I've read the others you posted to follow up. You might not see this but I wanna say that you could be an amazing author or you're probably one now. By the details you used and how the introduction was set, best story I've read. I just wish there was a part 4 😂 anyway, love this story.
I can't help but think about the "real" Cody. What was his life like in his alternate reality? Does he ever miss his old life and/or feel like his childhood was robbed from him? And on a side note, how would he and all of Cody's friends and family react if they ever found out the truth? That the Cody they new and loved was swapped with Adam? Would the "real" Cody act in rage at the human he felt stole his life? That is, if that's how he feels about his situation? These are all questions that ran through my head when I finished the story.
I Made my own fan comic sequel About Original Cody After reading the trilogy SPOILERS if you didn't read but in the last story Onecho wrote Broken Starlight the Original Cody did come back somehow as a young fox named Edward after completing some 'objective" in the previous world he was sent to and Its up to Adam as Cody to protect him . It isn't explained what's he's done In that world and Edward being little again doesn't remember and its never explained. So the Story basically ends with Cody dyeing and turning into Edwards guardian angel and Codys parents Adopting Edward It goes full circle at the end. In my opinion Edward is the least developed Character in this trilogy So I took the Alot of time out of the summer to make an Unofficial fan comic Dedicated to Edward I imagine him as he grows older becoming an angry spiteful person committing petty graffiti crimes with his friend mainly because all his life he doesn't know were he came from or who he truly is he is also left with ageing step parents since Adam technically stole most of his original life Kind of similar to what happened to Adam in this story but instead Edward is like a more criminal version of Adam. My comic is like 9 pages that's it
