Heehee When I was watching the replay of this drawing's Livestreaming, I felt really bad because the pose seemed to be giving you a few issues in the beginning. But once you got going, it was like magic! I loved watching your drawing processes. It made me smile cuz we seem to do the same things when starting a drawing - listening to music, sketching sample sketches on a smaller piece of paper, beginning with simple shapes, etc.
You truly nailed the dynamic pose I requested; there's so much passion and power in the placement and lift of the legs, the spreading of the wings, the "puffing up" of her torso, the lift of her hair, everything. The details are great as well - you can really feel the texture of Khiya's wings and the talons are just neat. Towards the end, I was getting a tad nervous cuz I thought you may have missed the tuft at the end of Khiya's tail Heehee But as soon as I started twiddling my thumbs, you noticed it and fixed it! Awesome :D But even if you had forgotten, I wouldn't have minded.
Overall, Khiya turned out truly spectacular! I love how you used shading and lighting to accentuate her colors and hues. The moonlight cast on her came out very nice as well. She's beautiful in your style!
It's been a little dream of mine to have a Gargoyles character drawn by you and it makes me really happy to have had that wish come true. I've been a fan of your work for ages and it's a major honor to have commissioned you!
Thank you so much, Karine (do you mind if I call your Charmander?). This is definitely going to be framed and put up on my art studio's wall as inspiration for me to start writing my "Gargoyles" Khiya story. I truly it and will treasure it always! I look forward to possibly commission you again in the future.
For anyone who hasn't commissioned Karine yet, I hope this piece, along with the many other masterpieces she has done, will be enough to persuade you to do the right thing ;)
