aesprite has become such a safe space when it comes to execution anxiety! Thanks! I like to think the small things here really give this one it's life, id be experimenting with techniques again here this trying to sneak in some underpainting like how the face has it's own tonal ranges to reference in hues!
... I just... havent figured out how to underpaint with aesprite just yet; maybe a light wash works! though there's no real "mixing" here, it'll be all out of pocket color picking in these pixel lands...

It's funny, personally I prefer Photoshop even for pixels. I tried aesprite, but I didn't like it, I think I'm too used to photoshop, and it's convenient for me.
I love pixels. In fact, they are no worse than digital. For me, they are in second place, after the traditional one, I think. It's cool, and the number of pixel-related styles is incredibly large, I like how you left pretty large fragments filling with one color. It has a mosaic structure that I like.
And this is just my opinion, but I think the black background looks great here. (The potential of embroidery on black canvas and all that:b).
