....Is not for me
After all these years of being gay l still never really felt belonged and needed this pride thing ever even living in an accepting country (even tho theres still no same sex marriage in my country but its just a matter of time
(Im interested what people think of this))
(Another side note l also edited his expression many times since its based on the closing curtains meme exploitable including his expression which looks more grumpier)

No one is/should be forced to join the celebrations if they don't feel like to. Some people might feel the need to celebrate for personal reasons, some people might join because it's fun, some people may not like all the parades and the colors and the noise (me, for example), some people may dislike pride month due to the intense commercialism and some people may not feel the need to participate at all. To each their own valid reason to join or not as long as we don't fight over it.
only commenting cuz you said (Im interested what people think of this) otherwise I leave these things be.
I find it strange that every year ppl have to say how much this annoys them by making comics or comments like this
its perfectly fine if you dont wanna celebrate it , you dont have to do anything at all but if you are not straight like it or not this is for you too.
a lot of people are fighting and protesting for your rights too
even if its not a country you live this is a standard thats attempting to be set for the world
where i live being gay is illegal and can get you killed and i looooooove dicks, so seeing people rally to at least remedy that and try to fix the errors in the world even tho its not where I live (Cuz its not currently possible to do that)
Makes me feel better
maybe when i move out to another country i'd have rights there
if we dont push back if we stay and keep being complacent, they'll sign one bill after the other taking our rights away
this is for those that feel weird for having different sexualities aside from being straight
its for those that thinks they're abnormal or sinners for this
for all of those that can never talk to their family or friends about it
to let them all know, you are not alone and you are not broken, you just fly different colors.
Dont be complacent, LGBT rights are still not set in stone and they can be taken away
This is what I think :P and if ppl dont wanna participate or do anything at all thats perfectly fine but it kinda hurts seeing people within the fandom saying (Why a whole month for it ) or comics like this

Thank you for this comment, it broadened my view on pride month and on lgbt+ rights as a whole
I live in a country where being gay is not illegal, but a bit difficult due to war between politic parties appealing to the majority of people who are homophobic and the politic parties who are more lgbt+ friendly, as well as the majority of old people being old-schooled, making it a neutral-slightly negative zone mostly. Due to this, I sort of convinced myself that the whole world as a whole was at least lgbt+ neutral, "forgetting" about the places where in fact, homosexuality is illegal and/or immoral, making pride month for the countries where it is possible to be celebrated a form of "fight" against the countries that are opposite to the recognition of lgbt+ rights rather than a simple gay festival

To be honest... This pride stuff is just another season tendency to me, I don't feel like participating either or making something because it's pride month.
Also, this flag stuff feels like we have to classify what we feel or like and what we are.... man, people surely like to over-complex stuff and get upset about this.
So, to me, sexuality is just a matter of preferences, not a big deal, I'm harming no one. As I always say, it's like liking pineapple on pizza, it's tasty but not everybody likes it (my apologies my Italian fellows).

Sorry, but .. I am telling all the truth here. I avoid people with pride flags now because the conversations literally starts with: Want a flag, why don't you wear a flag? Are you an ally? what you think of ...
Or online: Why you have no ally posts? Why no pronomes? why why why . tell me tell me.
Really. I don't want to force others and I expect also not to be forced.
Actually. all of this made me a little less accepting. At least I do not like those who are forcing me

I always felt Pride Month too patronizing, especially find it preposterous considering the Fallen and Veterans get one day respectfully while I get a Month cause I prefer both ways (am Bi myself, but I digress).
The one thing I do find too off-putting is using this Month as an Excuse to talk trash towards those whom are Straight.

Lol, well I find it utterly naive that you seem to think that it is "just a matter of time" that same sex marriage is okay, and at the same time you think Pride is not for you.
It is for you, even if you don't participate. It's not a national holiday or a trend or any of that, it's a grass roots protest movement at its core. Only because of our increased visibility with community driven efforts like pride month do we make any progress to get equal rights. We aren't magicially given equal rights by governments and keep them forever: we need to constantly DEMAND them from the people in power, need to PROTECT the progress we have made from those who wish to reverse the progress.
As someone who works in politics, I can tell you that the rights you enjoy at the moment and that you seem to take for granted are not secure. Every day I see petitions, proposals, bill being written to take away our rights again. There is parties, political campaigners etc that right now, every day, try to get rid of us again. And that's in a country that is seen as rather progresssive overall.
So yes, Pride Month is for you, it's okay to not participate but at the very least don't be a prick who discredits all the sweat, tears and death that the community sheds for YOUR RIGHTS. They rest on the backs of protests movements like Pride, you only have any rights because people are willing to go on the streets and force people to accept our existance as we are, not as they would like us.

I too have the feeling that its nice to see Pride be Celebrated and to see the people facing issues talk about them.
My issue is that it all feels forced into the month of June and feel that we as a society just say "it be gone by July" . I feel what we're fighting for now is very specific and not in everyone agenda. So can feel like we only focus on that. In the 80's and 90's the parade and the message was treat everyone equal. I am glad some places decided to listen to these Champions.
Today it feels like we narrow onto one thing forgetting everyone else. If you don't make an opinion on the narrow thing you know nothing about your somehow automatically against the narrow idea, we decided is worth the Pride. Pride is multicolored flag which is a representation of everyone and to be Proud of you.
Sometimes it can feel like now its just a one up for someone to shout at you. Especially big companies who only change the flag for the month then back to normal, Pride does not go away and you should always remain proud of yourself.

Yeah, I get it. I always found the attitude that some present with Pride kind of odd.
I accepted my asexuality , but I'm not exactly proud of it. I'm currently single. I will be proud to have a BOYFRIEND again someday, I'm sure, but I can't see myself waving flags madly and wearing rainbows.
I feel greater kinship with furries or people who play the same video games as I do than just "shares my sexual orientation".

I no longer care for pride month. It has become a business now, so....i dont give a shit about it anymore. I used to walk the parades, be involved with friends
at the pride festivals but then suddenly its really turned out to be about money $$$. At this point i dont see it any purpose besides putting money in their pockets.
Im all about charities and if the funds dont go to any charities, then im out. I did all of that stuff back in 2007-2014.
