With the popularity of Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door it's no surprise that one of the popular characters is Goombella the sassy Goomba girl that assists Mario and his friend on recovering the crystal stars and saving Princess Peach.
So here is my concept if Goombella would end up having her own spin-off video game. So here I did a pic of Goombella with her own types of power-ups since she wears a helmet it's interesting what kind of hats she would switch in battling enemies.
Title: Goombella's Big Journey.
Story: It sort of based upon Captain Toad's video game. The story goes that Goombella got invited to travel with her hero a female Koopa-Troopa explorer and personal hero Professor Kelsey Koopastein the 3rd to explore various different temples in search of amazing treasures within each temples from desert, to jungle, ancient Aztec, Underwater and more. There is of course different puzzles to solve, enemies to fight off and of course big boss battles as she would also find hidden treasures before getting the main treasures from each big bosses she defeats.
Attacks and Power-ups:
Of course Goombella's basic attack would be her head bonking attack as it's a basic attack that allows her to bonk her hard head against enemies but of course it's no good against any enemies with spikes or are literally rocks so these are power-ups that can help her out on her journey design for various situations and various types of enemies.
Chargin Goombella: The Football (American version) helmet is based upon the Mario enemies the Chargin Chucks where she would wear a hard football helmet that can help her head bonk be more effective on spikey and hard shelled enemies increasing her attack powers. Also not only is it useful in battles but if she sees a crack on a temple wall she would charge up and ram it down to create a hole in a wall to explore new temple rooms.
Ninja Goombella: A stealth item where Goombella would not only use it to help her cling and climb up walls but also do some awesome kick attacks and toss ninja stars at enemies from a distant. Plus on certain tiles she can do a smoke bomb teleporting from one tile to another tile (of course you got to find the tiles first before you can use them. What's a video game without some annoying concept or two?)
Frog suit Goombella: Bring back this classic item from Super Mario Bros 3 game Goombella can use the frog suit to not only jump higher for a more harder head bonk but can help her swim across water and dive underwater to find treasures on the bottom of the water floors (which is more useful for water type levels)
Fire Flower Goombella: Using the classic fire flower hat Goombella will be the first goomba to have a Fire Flower powers and can spit fire balls to take out her enemies.
Ice Flower Goombella: With the ice flower hat Goombella can use the Ice Flower attacks to breath icy breathes to freeze her enemies in their tracks as ice blocks. She can kick the blocks to take out other enemies or with some watery tiles she can use her ice breath to freeze the tiles to create slippery paths for her enemies to trip up.
Para hat Goombella: Last but not least (Unless I or anyone else come up with some more power-up ideas for Goombella) is the Para-hat where it's basically Goombella's hat but equipped with wings to make her into a temporary Para-Goomba making her fly to reach up over high places, or to fly over any traps or spikey tiles.
Plot Twist to her story: (Spoilers alert) As we reach towards the end of her video game journey along the way Goombella discovers her hero Professor Kelly Koopastein is actually a fraud and tricks others like Goombella in the past to claim their discoveries as her own. However with the treasures Goombella has discovered and recovered she realizes that the treasures will unlock an evil monster and Kelly unwittingly unleashed the beast. Of course with the help of her power-ups Goombella has defeated the monster, with Professor Kelly's secrets exposed Kelly has lost her hero status and is locked away in prison as Goombella goes on to become the famous Goomba explorer and continues to her new journey to discover new secrets of the world yet to be explored.
So that's basically my idea and concept for Goombella. I hope you all enjoyed this idea for a Goombella video game.
