Dunno. He might look like this. Then again, he might not. He *might* be that dude in the seat, next to you.
Forty-five minutes. Too fucking slow, but I'm working on it.

For this puppy: took a previous piece of art, tortured it using the distort tool, imported it into Painter, used the pen tools (primarily fine point, scratchboard rake, and thick and thin pens), used the blenders a little, took it back into PS and slapped some weird scans of paper over it, then called it done. ;)
And a well-founded fear it is! I think there might also be something about malformed heads that scares the bijuggers out of us. I visited a museum in a medical school on my trip and whooboy, did we have some disturbing specimens in dere. Man. 0_o
Will continue to push and push! *hugs*

I saw some stuff there that curled my toes. The dude who founded the museum made a lifetime study of cyclopsism (which is exactly what you think it is). Lots of specimens in jars, babies from the 1890s with all manner of creepy deformities.
The worst were the ones labeled "Amorphous". I didn't realize that was also a medical term. Oiy.

yeah, you're right. Cause it's the antithesis of 'knowing what you're doing'. The worst artists I've seen never experiment or copy from life. I guess it's the artist's ability to admit they don't know everything that makes them better. Well, that's how I feel, anyway.
This is good, as well as the other in-prog one you posted, so keep it up, and they both have interesting style to em.

Working from life is crucial, and studying, too. There's no "easy way" to get better at anything. Simple, maybe (practice, learn, observe, practice practice practice!), but not "easy".
You naturally plateau as you learn, too, and that can lead to sleepiness, which leads to stagnation. I'm feelin' a bit of that m'self (a lot, truth to tell), which is one reason I'm doing stuffs like this. Up the speed, challenge myself, get rolling. I hate stagnation and I hate repeating myself. :/
Gracious words, you. Thank you.

It's prolly always gonna be there, the confidence thing. That's ok. I likely need it to keep my ego in check.
I'm trying to up my speed, so expect more whackiness over the coming weeks and months. I gotta get in shape (in more ways than one).
Must talk soon as you can! Not only tripness to share, but other stuffs too!! *hugstight*

Y'know what speed seems to be? At least, from what I've been able to determine? Two things: knowledge (and by that I mean application as well as information), and confidence. A third bit: the element of play. If you can keep hold of the concept of "playing", you're always gonna have some level of fun.
So much of this beast is "Boom!" (made a mark, left it alone) "Boom!" (on to the next mark, left it alone and) "Boom!". It's in the futzing from uncertainty that I lose my focus and time expands to fill the space.
Dagnabbit.

Wow Berbby. Just, wow.
If I could open up your brain and peer into that dark, squishy mass that is your imagination, I think it might just overload my sensations with sexieness.
I love when you create things of this nature. It's like mental and sensationalistic (is that a word?) masturbation to study it's different ellements and to get sucked into the details. I don't always know what I'm looking at, but it doesn't matter. What doe smatter is how it draws forth and how it manipulates my perceptions and senses, which for me plays on the edge of orgasim for all my non-physical (and yet still physical) senses.
That sounds totally gross, and absolutely insane, but... yeah... *fapfap* =3~~*

Now this is my cup of tea, very interesting piece! The colours, the textures and the character.. very nice! <3
What I love the most about pieces like these are all the questions that pop up inside your head when you look at it, you really want to know more about this Sam Haine! ;)
I want to learn how to create concept pieces like this one myself, but all my attempts so far have been in vain. I don't really know how to do it, the process ain't really clear to me.. I'll have to do more research I guess. :3
I rarely see this type of art on FA so I just had to comment. ;D

Hey! Thank you very much for what you've written, and my apologies for taking so damn long to respond.
Honestly? This just came from my head, and the digital canvas. I hammered down a shape in black, then began carving out highlights, just working monochromatically. Once I had the form down I tightened it up in a couple of places and did a quick color job. That's all...from my subconscious to here.
Don't overthink it, I guess is what I'm driving at. If I can help clarify my process, just ask and I'll do my best to answer.
I've seen your work, too, and been suitably blown away. ;)

I have to agree with the comment someone else left earlier, about the big tall pointy cap being somehow subconciously scary for people who are familiar with the KKK. It just emits such an aura of overwhelming evil.. When there's very few "evil" details visible (no horns, no spikes, etc). It's brilliant how you convey such a sinister vibe with such abstract shape.
It's my coolant system. The hope was that by replacing my radiator cap, all would be fixed. I'm still seeing a puddle of fluid beneath my radiator and I still smell coolant when I get out of my car after driving it, and the transmission is STILL acting funny. I think I'll give these guys one more shot, and then I'm shopping for a Specialist. This is ridiculous. :P
You'll have to forgive me in advance for my dumb :B , I'm very tired, was about to go to sleep, but this caught my eye. I love the colouring on this, the contrast and the texture are gorgeous. <3 Somewhat reminds me of the artwork for some of the summons in Persona 3. Eeeh, I cant stop staring at it, its so fun to look at ;u;
