Oh my I actually have a little bit to write here because I love this piece a lot due to a few reasons.
1) The perspective works soooo good! I may appreciate paws and all but choosing to put the paws on uneven terrain like that helps add some much needed contrast between danger and serenity to this waterfall. Sure it helps to be a dragon and have claws that can rescue you from slippery rocks, but it's a welcome treat to see a scenario where being a dragon truly helps in enjoying such a bath because I would be shitting myself a little if I had to walk there haha.
2) The water effects and mist are great. So gorgeous and soothing! The spray caused by the water colliding with his back offers such visual spectacle! It's actually what impresses me the most about this pic; the way the water interacts with the dragon's body, because it is one of those things that can be done in so many ways, but in this case it really does work super well!
3) The lighting, which is just gorgeous! I for sure didn't miss the light bouncing off those tail spines, or the way it enhances the tail tip. It's some subtle touch that makes this all the more enchanting.
4) The expression. Yeah....it's very good and highly representative of how amazing it must feel to chill in such peaceful oasis.
Last but not least, that is some mighty good work done on those scales. Their varied texture and painted rendering adds so much to the character and I think Slate himself is super satisfied with the good work you've done there, as we know how picky those dergs can get over their scales XD
