“I am glad to have met you, however not pleased to have made your acquaintance.”
You painted you were glad you met me,
you really meant you were disappointed to have known me.
Making sure to in a split moment to lift my spirits,
for the following phrase to cut me down at the roots and make me bitter.
I’ve always heard about how misery love company,
I just never understood the measures gloom takes to ascertain that flock.
And what about myself has always made me the perfect target?
What about this husk of a soul makes you commend me to be an everlasting failure?
I didn’t ask to be amongst of your flock.
I wasn’t even given a choice of my own migration.
You swiftly made sure to falcon punch that away from me,
with unparalleled speed you caged me within your coup.
I’m not part of your murder of ravens,
nor am I a cast to your everlasting failure.
If walking alone is what you want me to do,
I will though not as you want me to,
I will march toward the coalition that defined who I should be.
It may be a frail to compare home to misery,
though in the admission of this grail,
I know I am valued even if I am to be an everlasting failure.
It is a home that misery can never provide.
I can hurt to have met and lost someone,
and cherish every moment I had their acquaintance.
Cradle every second my son was with me and mourn him forever.
Cope with the everlasting failure I was and am.
Embrace the people I love and those I have lost every chance I had.
Understand the pain of others with my own everlasting failure.
“I am mourning their absence; however I am pleased to have made their acquaintance.”

This was a warmup before getting some work on commissions done earlier this week. This I got done just an hour from start to finish, which was frankly surprising. Continuing Elias's story some as I play him from time to time with DnD5e. The first line/quote of the poem is something an npc had said to him and was something left a hell of a sting to him. Sometime later, this same character waves him off in a dismissive manner, he pauses and reiterates that same line back to her, her ultimate asking what on earth that line had to do with anything they were talking about. Elias simply responds with, "I'll read what most here overlook, simple."
While Elias himself is a vampire spawn at the time, he did not inherit a vampire spawn's alignment and is still the chaotic good soul he was prior to getting turned, which makes him being in an enviournment where being deceptive to your peers to foil their schemes and jobs to gain their master's favour, is a difficult task for him, even more so as he's not power hungry for the sake of his own power.
He's already a power-house, and if he were to pursue any more power, it would be to reestablish order to those who have abused the positions of power they have obtained. He knows very well what corruption does, and he's been in game declared got more raw power than the most known mage in history, and he's not even at his peak yet. His sheer abilities scare him, and he knows how to use his powers very effectively, though he does everything in his capabilities to not use them, because he doesn't want to use them.
