Though known for possessing a presence that can make armies of hardened soldiers quiver and the strong-willed bow, even Iseldrllyr is not exempt from the pull of motherly love. An outside exterior hardened by the trials of her life softens and melts before her clutch as she awaits their hatch day with bated breath.
An overwhelming love engulfs her heart, almost crippling in its strength. Anything— the dragoness realizes with a sharp breath. She would do anything for them.
Claws that can easily rend bone from flesh remain careful— reverent, even, as she pulls her young closer. Though nestled within a space filled with gilded fortune and riches, no amount of coveted gold or gleaming gems could ever compare to the treasures tucked within her arms.
The Queen of the North's eyes soften, golden sunlight bathing her and her little family in warmth. She bows her head closer, touching the shells of her young with a gentleness that belies her might.
"You are my greatest treasure."

This is, definitely, one of my favorite pieces of Iseldrllyr. I typically love to get art of her that showcases her elegance and strength— so when I get ones like these that display some vulnerability and softness with her, I can't help but fall in love. The atmosphere in this is amazing— Yanir, as always, did such an amazing job that I'm honestly at a loss for words. It just looks so soft, warm, and dreamy!
Furthermore, I honestly agree/loved the title and slight 'theme' present that the artist chose and decided to kinda... 'yoink' it LOL. For all her riches, power, and status— her children were her greatest treasure. Which is likely why Iseldrllyr had no problem tearing it all down when that unfortunate 'event' happened.
This was a slightly belated 'Mother's Day' gift for Isel lol. Maybe one day I'll let her actually be happy baha.

Mother dragons are some of my favorite expression for dragons as beings that are not mere beasts.
A dragon's affection, combined with their apex predator power, is astounding in my mind. Just sends my imagination through the roof.
Not to mention how jaw-dropping this artwork is. . . this incredibly passionate and wonderful piece that I can't help but feel the need to meet the bar on. . .
