And honestly? Screw the Pokédex. There’s a lot of stuff there that we just have to take Game Freak’s word for and never gets expanded or developed on.

I agree with this statement. And there are three tings to consider for Pocket Monsters franchise as a whole:

1. Just because the pokedex says/mentions things of what this pokemon did in the past, doesn't mean that's what it's doing nowadays or what it's actually like to see one in the wild. So the pokedex entries might as well be short fictional stories made up or created out of thin air by a pokemon researcher who either hated or loved that specific pokemon (but even I don't buy it, it's just a story at the end of the day).
2. I don't care too much about the franchise except the creatures and that's about it. Everything else, including the gender, stats, moves, biology, lifestyles, etc. that's all fictional anyway and we can make it up however we like (it's not going to affect the franchise as a whole, despite some people who wish to be close to the canon that Game Freak/The Pokemon Company Inc. decided this is official and see fan work as just nothing to sneeze at or even consider/care about someone else's preference of making this pokemon female, male, or different from its original creation and discard what the specific individual has to say about their favorite pokemon). It just goes to show that even with all of the things included in the franchise, even I would like the creatures and that's about it, the others are just extras and I don't care too much about the games compared to their past works from Generation 5 and before.
3. Speaking of fictional, if you know what fictional means, it just means it doesn't exist and it's made up. So long as these creatures do not exist in our reality, they're made up and we can use these pokemon creatures however we like.

Very cute character! And I think Terapagos has a 50/50 gender ratio, but the one you get in the game is gender locked to male.

I think some pokedex info is inacurate and since Terapagos in DLC is male but maybe there is a female one.
