From an OC challenge on DeviantArt, Jean-Renaud is teamed up with another participant's character, Sebastian.
In his piece the two of them were fencing out in the courtyard of Sebastian's family estate and in my piece they're relaxing and reading in his estate's library.

If you're poor, your furniture ain't worth getting upset over since it was likely trash to begin with.
If you could hardly afford to it when you bought it new, then there's no pets, food or shoes on the furniture, and it's probably covered in plastic.
If the most plush, expensive furniture was purchased as an after thought and/or to go with the decor, then pets sit where pets want.
