The squirrels in DC are fearless when it comes to people... they'll run right up your leg for a treat it seams... or if they see you munching on trial mix on your way to another place to take pictures... some one threw some granola at this one and it stopped to munch right in front of me on the side walk... I took a few pics from above him and he didn't seam to care so I got down on the ground and put the lens like right next to him and snapped this picture.
