Original Species: Marine Rosa The Beautiful Horror
The Marine Rosa is a gigantic species of jellyfish native to the blue hole within the Northern Crown of the Abyss. Also referred to as "The Beautiful Horror", this Cnidarian truly lives up to both its names. With a body that resembles a flower and a color palette reminiscent of either the deep sea or the night sky, it is seen by many as one of the most beautiful creatures on the planet. However, the "Horror" in its name is also warranted.
The tentacles of the Marine Rosa contain a powerful neurotoxin that can paralyze any living creature that comes in contact with it in a matter of seconds. That isn't the end of it. This massive jellyfish has also been seen casting various powerful Ice and Water spells. Sailors who've encountered this creature tell stories of Ice Sears piercing their boats from below, indicating an attack from the Marine Rosa. It is uncertain exactly how many such incidents ended up in fatalities. Survivors report that if you end up in the water with a Marine Rosa, it is best to accept your fate and pray for a swift death.
Fortunately, such encounters are rare and mostly a result of rogue individuals finding their way out of the Abyss and drifting into the open ocean. Still, the Marine Rosa is one of the few species with a "kill on sight" policy, as rogue individuals are far too dangerous to swim around in the open ocean. On top of that, outside the Abyss, the Marine Rosa has very few natural enemies and an out-of-control population of these beasts could prove catastrophic to other ecosystems.
