Born into the Serapean slave caste under a family of little renown, Veil's life consisted of servitude dictated to her by her masters for years, until the day when her deadly power awakened. Seeing the opportunity, the house's matriarch moved to have Veil take part in arena matches to bolster the honor of the House. With obligation to her House and an unwavering devotion to Serapis, Veil embraced the power granted her by the All-Mother and headed into a life of combat.

Given her meager constitution and general lack of education, Veil's power and instincts are the few saving graces she has in the rush of arena battles. Balls of searing plasma fired from the frills around her neck which she can control the movement of make her a dangerous foe at any range.

A ref sheet for a new Dreamkeepers OC, who I intend to write a short story about soon. The recent SKOM pages on religious lore were a treasure trove of information on Serapeum, and as I read through them, I was inspired to come up with a story about a slave turned arena fighter. Veil ended up being the product of my experimenting with a new character design for that story, based somewhat on a frilled lizard, though I pretty much just started by adding details like her tail and back spines from the ground up.
