My attempt at this week's Thursday Prompt. This week, the word for the prompt was "printer".
Per normal, please be sure to check
Thursday_Prompt for more.
Just a goofy one off with not much to say as the prompt word this week didn't really speak much to me. The ending gets a bit rushed, but I think it at least makes sense.

They had to get him moving somehow!
Windows do make for exciting exits, though not the most safe, I suppose. Fortunately, it didn't come to that even when that last scare got him the way it had. (I myself would have frozen upstairs in the offices and simply toppled over like a statue!)
I'm grateful you'd take the time to look over all this, thanks much for that.

Ah, I had a feeling that one thing wasn't planned, it's just a classic trope that if done well is so good, and you did it well. I am a mixed believer in ghosts and I feel this one happens to be like most claims of ghosts tend to be.
This started to remind me of one of my childhood things: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yyh9Af1O850

*chuckles... I was on a lighthouse - relief duty by myself - one night the ghost did a Jacob Marley to me, coming in and sitting on the end of my bed. He scared the bejeeebers out of me. After that, however, I think I had the most restful night I ever had. Thee regular keeper confirmed to me later that the place was haunted.

Ah, maybe he was trying to ask something of you. I remember reading St. Padre Pio encountering the soul of a deceased priest or monk who had died in a fire that was a result of his smoking and was allowed by God to return and ask the saint to offer a mass for him. That's my belief in ghosts, that they're just souls sent back from the afterlife to ask the living to pray for them.
An interesting and somewhat funny story nonetheless.

your thoughts on these things is also quite interesting...

Not everything goes according to even the most well thought out plans... Sawyer did lock the cold room door, right? Yeah, I'm sure he did...
Enjoyable little video, I admit to having laughed. Thanks for sharing.
I'm grateful that you'd look through this, it's very much appreciated.

Certainly a party that Mikhail won't soon be forgetting!
As for the girl: I had originally planned to have the janitor stop Mikhail before he left the offices and tell him about the "ghosts" roaming the labs, but decided to just drop that. Nex came up with one theory, but I'll let you decide for sure what the case might be.
Whatever you decide, I'd just like to say thank you much for having read through this, very grateful for that.

Haha, this thing with the printer seemed funny to me. It would be silly to me if it just printed to me "leave now".
Nice idea thought up by these coworkers. And they gave him nice ice cream at the end.
As for the little girl maybe there are some experiments being conducted in the lab they don't know about... Or just main character's imagination. I think it would be pretty much possible to imagine something like that.

Mikhail will suggest you do as the printer says; the office ghosts and ghouls are abound!
After such a trial just to get to his party, I'd say he's more than earned that ice cream.
That could certainly make for an interesting explanation... or some interesting discussions with federal investigators! Regardless, after all the other cheesy horror movie tropes, it probably wouldn't come as that big a surprise, really.

Oof... finally got enough time to sit down and read these things.
Having had an iguana once, I find his skittish and easily spooked behavior to be strangely fitting. I think I would have let them have it though if I managed to get trolled that hard. The one thing missing here was that whip-like tail coming into use.
The ending sort of dropped like a punchline, but it fit well, considering the whole thing up to that point was a bit of a joke/prank.

I'm sure you're probably incredibly busy with your own work and life; I very much appreciate that you'd take the time to read my nonsense, but you don't have to do that when you have other things on your mind.
I always thought the skittish nature to lizards and reptiles like an iguana both funny and, honestly, relatable as I'm a rather skittish person myself. I'm not sure if I would have had the courage to brave a "haunted" office space myself though! Now that you mention it, I do kind of regret not adding something with the tail (the whole idea had entirely slipped my mind while drafting this up).
Admittedly, I'm not incredibly pleased with that ending as it is just an abrupt "okay, we're done now". I just couldn't really think of anything better, if I'm honest. Humor and jokes aren't really my strong suit and it probably shows with that gag.
I'm grateful that you'd continue to take the time for these, it means a lot. I recognize you've plenty on your plate right now, so please don't feel like you need to look over my things (I'll always say they're just amateur at best anyways).
