A while back I held a poll which asked a simple question:
If Captain Jack Sparrow was a furry what animal would he be? (http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2175798/)
The winner of the poll was Otter... as such I attempted to draw Jack sparrow as an otter. For some reason it doesn't seem like Jack to me. I'm not sure what's missing or what I could change to give it more of a Jack Sparrow flavor... Any thoughts/suggestions/comments?

Make the body a bit more narrow and the legs a bit longer. The face looks a bit to "chubby" [for lack of a better word] as well. Jack sparrow is tall, dark, and handsome, not short, stout, and wide. Which might be a little tough to do with an otter! Make it so the viewer thinks "Jack sparrow" first and "Otter" second.

LOL! That is exactly why I was very skeptical when I started seeing the otter getting more votes. Otters do not have the image you just described and I didn't want to make it a human with a tail and very little otter features. I'll try that approach though... go from human to animal instead of animal to human.
