Raka from Kingdom of the planet of the apes, chilling with his partner (he isn't shown alive in the film, but he is talked about. "He was my village, and they killed him")
They are talking about a very old book he has found, about the biology of humans, a topic he finds most interesting.
Because Raka has no cheek flanges I assume that whoever he lived with, did. Because not all orangs grow them, the presence of an already flanged male literally supresses it. Raka doesn't mind, it's not like he's trying to attract any females :P

I've read some. I noticed many human/ape couples are always male apes with female humans. I've never seen one with a male human and female ape. That's something new the fans haven't tried. Especially given the OG and Tim Burton remake had a human guy kiss a female ape. There should be a fanfiction on this.
Speaking of orangs, I saw a video on YouTube of a story of a guy who had long orange hair. The locals told him to wear a hat because it was orangutan mating season and he might be mistaken for one. He didn't listen and a male orangutan took him as a mate. 😆 The guy got away, but he'll never be right after that experience.
The late Robin Williams joked about what almost happened to him and Koko the female gorilla. Koko almost had her way with him had her trainer not intervened. Robin said Koko almost dragged him into her cage. "Koko signed for me to lift my shirt and she reached out and grabbed me. When an 800 pound gorilla grabs your nipples, you listen."

I too would like to see more male human/female ape. It's something I draw sometimes but not tied to pota or anything, just self-indulgent stuff from the animal's perspective. I think it's less common because the "beauty and the beast" concept is much more mainstream. Male animal is a hypermasculine figure, human woman is ravished by it, super old trope.
Man fucking a female animal or monster is seen as just plain weird.
