okay so some of that, i can kinda see his point. turning cousins into girlfriends just SCREAMS Alabama at me, and there is nothing wrong sexy girls and panty shots
but at the same time WHO THE FUCK ASKED YOU?
as to making something "up to date" i have no real issues with that. But i do think some stuff would be ruined if remade these days.

That's fair, out of context, the cousin-girlfriend thing does sound pretty suspect.
The context in this case being that it's a reference to Sailor Moon. In the original version Sailors Uranus and Neptune were definitely an item and not related. However DIC, who did the english dubbing most are familiar with, felt this was far too risky for the 90s and so dubbed over any mention of romance by insisting the two were cousins. Since all they changed were dialogue it resulted in some fairly hilarious and awkward scenes. When it got re-dubbed by VIZ, they corrected that so the two were once more girlfriends instead of cousins. This upset more than a few people.
That said, yeah, the real issue is that he's loud, butting into a conversation, and invading Celine's personal space.

Biggest problem with remakes and relaunches is the failure to even meet the level of the original series/movie/game. If the source material had stuff overlooked due to local concerns and could be added in the remake, why not? I would like to have it truer to the source material for the creator's original intent.
Yeah, actually the TV thing is a good example here. The original creator of Sailor Project used TVs because they wanted to address growing concerns over the level of influence televised propaganda could have on the public. The update changed them to smart phones because that was the modern face to the same concern.
