One of the big problems with a royalty-based form of government is that eventually down the road the heirs get stupid, lazy, incompetent, or some combination of the three and things go to hell in a handbasket. His nibs here seems to be a textbook example of the phenomenon.

Oh, yes, most excellent art as a strong element of conflict is introduced. "His Highness" sounds like he's in sore need of a reality adjustment, most likely with a large wrench. Methinks this is not going to be an easy mission for the captain and crew.

When you're in some wretched hive of scum and villainy, and some older guy and his young companion want to hire a fast ship with no questions asked, make sure they pay well, and up front.

Quite, you never know what you're going to run into. I'd want a fast ship with good shields and as much stealth gear as I can get. You know that going in stealthily is not compatible with going in fast; convincing your customers of that may be something else.
