Getting a mixtape from someone is such a thrill. I spent a couple hours this Saturday in a section of a park I've never visited, listening to a masterfully curated succession of mostly decades-old material that I've somehow never heard before. An old park and old technology helped form fresh pathways in my mind! I certainly didn't hit the "paws button" on this mix.

Speaking of "decades old and never heard" I'd never heard heard the term "jorts" before, it was always "cut-offs."
I sense there was a vocabularly for every stage of decay in a pair of bluejean's usable life that's become obscure since the close of the eighties. Guess a blog search for "stone washed" could be done.

did you really stroll the park with your walkman conspicuously affixed to your waistband? could you discern any quizzical glances in your direction?
man too cool.
also: epaulets! i was thinking of your fascination with this detail and musing that it sounds like a cross between epilepsy and tourettes and a less informed person might think, if you told them you had epaulets, that you would be shaking and swearing a lot.

Oh yes, I wore it with pride. There weren't many others around, though.
I bought a pilot's shirt at thrift store shortly before joining FA, and I knew a grey wolf character would be kind of generic without some sort of distinctive clothing. Influenced by clup's shirt and scarf combo, I decided to draw my character with a consistent wardrobe. Epaulets are an interesting embellishment. They apparently came about as a way of making one's shoulders look larger.
Epaulets affect over a million pilots, firefighters, policemen and military generals in the US alone. Talk to your doctor or tailor about once-daily Zhulderpadds.
