You might be asking, Roidh, did you really just get another Kira commission? Yes. Yes, I did.
I was able to snag a slot during
kidcub's (A.K.A. Boycub) stream today. The image was entirely up to the artist and he did a fantastic job on capturing her just from the ref sheet.

I'm probably still gonna not look it out even when I can see it, but I take your word it's great.
Clothes can be more cuter and sexier IMO, they allow many different kinds of tastes. (And before anyone argues how upsetting to fur it will be, there is fabric which doesn't catch fur: https://www.ashleywagnerarts.com/bl.....ell%20for%20me. )

Idk, there's an argument to be made that having fur counts as having clothes, but it falls apart once you leave null toon land. Really, at the bare minimum they should have something to cover the crotch, but you have to wonder how they make the jump to fabric without stopping at animal skins somewhere along the way, and that opens up a whole can of worms that can only be hand-waved by saying that the feral ones don't count as people. But then you have to ask where the divide between anthro and feral is, and... Needless to say, worldbuilding for anthro animals can involve a lot of anthropology and philosophy.
Don't even get me started on how interspecies relationships would work. I still haven't poked that metaphorical bear of a thought exercise yet despite it being heavily implied. My answer right now for my setting is that the Wieldless stay away from it while the Wielders can't have children and so adopt Feral-Born and Wieldless' orphaned children.

So I know I put this somewhere else. Really the purpose of clothing can be broken down into three main core parts.
1. Warmth
2. Protection against sunburns
3. Minor armor for cuts from things like animal attacks or more commonly just running into bushes and plants.
Fur on an anthro provides all of those benefits. As such, there would be little need for anthros to develop a need to wear clothing outside of the purposes of stronger armor than what their fur can provide. From there one can surmise that it is possible that anthros might never develop a culture of wearing clothes and also not have the sense of shame from being bare and uncovered.
In the setting with Kira this is kind of the approach I took. Areas that are primarily anthro generally don't have rules or any stigma about public nudity, while everywhere else pretty much does. The main University everyone is attending is in an anthro dominated nation, but since it is a rather international school, many come from elsewhere and feel uncomfortable about it... which at least I find kind of amusing. Kira herself is also rather sheltered and naïve and really has no sense of shame about just hanging around completely naked, though she usually doesn't as she enjoys looking cute in things like dresses like this. Though if it get's too hot or she's just got everything in the wash, expect her to just hang around in her birthday suit.

One interesting caveat is reptilian (or amphibious) anthros. They’d be more likely to develop clothes for warmth, but less likely to actually need them by the standards of human modesty.
Hell, the entire existence of externalized genitalia among warm-bloods is more of an evolutionary quirk rather than something that was strictly necessary or advantageous. It’s just that it’s obviously more familiar, sexy , and amusing to portray furred anthros in the manner we earth mammals evolved.

Yes, assuming the reptiles are still cold blooded that definitely would be the case. In this setting the anthros all become far closer to humans for their internal biology (their genitalia appear more animalistic though), so they don't have that particular issue. Another one of my settings does have the anthro lizards like that and it essentially has prevented them from spreading and colonizing the lands outside of the tropics.
Oddly, I've actually been thinking about what the fantasy genitals of the kankir are going to look like and so I was kind of looking into thoughts and theories about why most mammals are the way they are. I eventually decided to just go with internal testicles and the penis fully retracting into a slit to further the joke about there being no sexual dimorphism within the species. Now people can't even tell them apart if they're naked.

True. Would be fun to mess with people. The thing is that they are mostly isolated and their closest neighbors, the eastern klyra, actually have a language that doesn't have gendered pronouns. One of the potential scenes that has been floating around for my game is that the klyra character invites the kankir to help him bathe. This completely freaks her out as it is far more sexual in her own culture while for the klyra it is a massive statement of trust. It is also during this scene that he comes to realize that she's been female this entire time when he just assumed she was a man.
As for cross dressing, depends on the group of kankir as there's 4 major cultural groups that have developed, each with their own style of outfits. The Firkoan, being as harsh as it is, has diminished the difference between male and female outfits as survival is more important. The other two groups though probably have developed more gendered clothing.
