Back with some design tweaks for Orion to cap off the month! I’ve had this in the works for a while now and I’m technically not done yet (Part 2 will follow soon!), but I’m glad to be done this at least :D This part shows how Orion appears in the main story so it’s the more important of the two sheets in terms of overall updates, though I am still excited to show more of his expanded lore with Part 2 later.

The most prominent change here is to his antlers and weapons, as well as giving him an alternate outfit. Like most of my design tweaks, his previous design was perfectly serviceable as it was, but his new lore informs these changes.

Rather than starting out that way, Orion was instead afflicted with his deer-like appearance by Rangifer, the reindeer, and thus I wanted to give him a bit more of a “cursed” appearance as a result. Though it’s not actually a curse magically speaking, it is not unique from other forms of transformation present in this story, it is often seen as one given how it manifests. It is used to punish hunters for their hubris, and such a punishment falls to Orion after he refuses to stop hunting the creatures of the Astral Plane. Learning the fear of his prey humbles him, and he then walks a gentler path.
