Cell service is slow in the twilight hours. As they try to drown the groans of bus metal with the gentle sounds of jazz, the music stutters as the bus enters a tunnel. Cursing to themself, they raise their phone to the sky in a feeble attempt to stabilize the connectivity. As they leave the tunnel, service returns. They slump against the uncomfortable bus seat in exhaustion from the day's events, relieved that the music had returned. An hour still remains on their commute.
