This is an "Argentine Maned Wolf" which was a completely new subject to me. I had a bit of leeway in what the final design would look like, so I basically looked at the real animal, and then rather than follow markings and everything to the letter I jotted down my impressions of what they were like. I'd say I'm more or less pleased with the results, which do match the images which I saw of the real animal: slender, fluffy, and adorable!

Very nice rendition of a maned wolf girl. These 'foxes on stilts' are a really neat and beautiful species..., years ago at the San Diego Zoo I was lucky enough to be in the audience for a 'keeper presentation' where the maned wolves' keeper came into the compound with his charges (two sisters) and talked about them..., and by tossing bits of meat demonstrated how agile and graceful they were.
When I started doing art for FA I even drew one..., just a pinup..., never made her an OC or made up a story line.

Also, somewhere in my disorganized collection of furry literature there are some zines which feature a furry world in which maned wolves are among the major characters..., can't remember its name, though.
