I can’t say I’m 100% on this because of the subjectivity on it, but let’s dive into it.
Awareness: I generally like people to be fully aware of being TF’d or at least becoming aware after some momentary confusion. It kind of takes me out of it if a person is completely oblivious to suddenly walking on all fours or being a tenth their original size. One sort of exception is missing the TF itself because the victim is asleep/unconscious and only discover it on waking up.
Bodily control: I’m open to a wide range on this. But one time I sort of lose interest is if a person just immediately masters their new body, like flawlessly flying on wings they just got. In part, I think you lose the novelty in exploring the new body. At the other extreme, I have mixed feelings about the victim being nonfunctional.
Explicitness: Perhaps “wholesome” isn’t quite the right word, but I dislike sexually explicit stuff. The TF in and of itself may be sort of a kinky thing, though.
Identity For the most part, I like the identity to remain intact, but perhaps with some animal urges or instincts. That being said, I’ve found myself a bit captivated by some instances of personality being overwritten or erased. Not something I would explore with existing characters.
Duration: I kinda like it to happen quickly. I’m fine with “poof” TFs but I do like to see morphing from one form to another, but the appeal drops off if it takes much more than a few seconds. There are exceptions, like
Dearshul’s character Henry, cursed with a transformation that progresses every time he lies.
Publicity: I don’t really have much in the way of strong opinions here. I think most degrees of private or with others have their appeal. While I’m not against it, I’m not that big on making a full public spectacle of it.
Sensation: This is also a broad range. Anywhere from pleasure to a bit of pain or discomfort is good, but severe pain is a turn-off.
Permanence This too is pretty broad. I do like at least teasing at the TF being permanent, but am a bit iffy on a TF being reversed after years or something like that.
Initiation: Not much to say here since I’m not that certain about it. I don’t see much in the way of premeditated transformation.
Form: I like people turning into animals. Anthro is fine, but I prefer feral. Maybe have a human grow a tail. But human to human is mostly uninteresting.
Animacy: I’m mostly a human to animal guy, but animate plush is also fine. Again I’ve been kinda captivated by some inanimate stuff. If I explore it, I’d probably come up with a new OC for it.
Role: I usually like to picture myself as the one being transformed, but I have, especially recently, gained some interest as being the transformer via Ridley.
In general I was less sure how to fill out these ternary plots.
Consent: Can be all over the place. I like voluntary shapeshifting, which is why I have a shapeshifter for a fursona. But I can be all over the place.
Reaction: Almost anything is good really, unless it’s something like extreme horror or orgasmic pleasure. Though I do also like other reactions like surprise, confusion, and curiosity.
Cause: While the others are fine, if I have a pick I’ll pretty much always go with magic. It just makes the suspension of disbelief easier. Your scientist’s serum and TF ray might as well be a potion or magic wand.
Priority: I’m mostly fine any way it goes, though I do get turned off a bit if it gets too sexual/kinky I think.
