This happened on the Kaerwyn RP that was run by them. This is a bit of a long story - but a Faerie challenged people to some kind of a game. (Perhaps knowing Quec would be intrigued by such a thing?) As payment, the Faerie took over the town and named the five involved as Lords under his banner. Quec was one such person.
While all of them were made to act as villains to some degree, Quec was somewhat of the "Token Heroic" type. He spoke with politeness towards the others, he used his powers of the mind and emotion not to force others to do his bidding, but to act kind to them. He offered succor in the time of distress, and protection from the other Fae Lords. The fae lords who either abused their subjects, used them as a tool, declared war on the mortals, or were just scary.
Despite this, he still played the 'game' very conservatively - not calling attention to himself. Not being seen as a "threat" (Until only two remained...) because he felt that he could save everyone. Think of, for example, Chairman Rose's theme in Pokémon Sword and Shield - the chorus of "Rosa Seda Credo" ("Rose's thorned creed") also sounds like it's saying "Go Rose, Save everyone". So that was him. Unlike the usual selfish villains who think a lot of themselves, he thought his duty was to serve the town... and the king. Perhaps that's why he needed not be completely mindfucked? :P
Anyway, the other thing that was notable about Quec like this was that he was... a very colourful bird. He changed colours depending on his and others' own emotional state. It perhaps helps that he is ordinarily VERY hard to read.
