Alright, so it's been a while.
I said to someone that I should get a story written last year, but hey, now it's July of this year.
Been tinkering a little bit with these new-fangled generative AI models, and honestly? They can do most of the work I do: You can get them to write a perfectly fine fight story if you prompt it right, all within a series of prompts in half an hour or so if you really tinker with it, you also get it to satisfy your very own needs on what you like about fight stories, so there's even more enjoyment to be had there.
What I'm saying is.. There isn't a whole lot of point for me writing fight stories now that I'm seeing this tech, which can write my stories for a fraction of the time typo-free; I'm sure that if you feed enough of my works, you can get your very own pocket Laval to write whatever fight story you want.
I guess I'm discouraged in a way? I mean, it's far from perfect, but it's "Good enough", and sometimes, that's all you need for entertainment, especially since you can so much more quantity at own convenience that match your preferences.
I tried using them to help me write, since most times I get stuck trying to describe something or certain actions in a semi-prosaic manner or needing new vocabulary, but at that point I feel like they're the one writing, not me, and so I have no right to publish it under my own name.
I wanted to address this problem in a journal, but I don't think that'd be fitting, so I may as well try and post something.
This is the Rensor: a.. hard sci-fi and speculative biology idea? It's not the hardest of sci-fi, but I try to make it believable and at least more grounded compared to ye mainstream space operas (You can read more about what I'm trying to achieve in the file itself)
This was actually a university assignment, but I may as well post it here, since I think it'd be a good read for you lot who loves worldbuilding. Inputs and such are welcome, as always!
But uhh.. Alright, I'm rambling now, but essentially take this as an announcement of me not really writing fight stories anymore or writing much in general (I'm way past the routine of 1 story per month now). I try to write them, but again, the generative AIs can do what I do for those one-off stories, so I'm going to have to try something that they can't quite do yet; I.e long-term narratives and intricate worlbuilding.
Plus.. I have an ever growing web of connections I need to maintain in university; no longer just a teen writing boxing anthros in their bedroom, and so I have less time for things like this in general.
Does that mean it's going to take ages before I can confidently post something, even more so than the fight stories?
Yes.
But I hope it's something more unique and not easily replicable; I want to deliver worldbuilding that can may require a Wikipedia to keep track of everything and spans across several eras; A lifelong project of mine, so feel free to stick around as long as you want or can for that.
As for narratives.. There's Estral, right? I'm over 18, so I get to write and post the mature content. I should probably work on that, maybe rewrite chapter 1 while I'm at it.
And maps! I finally made some, so I might finally be able to give a rough idea of the world all these stories have been taking place in (The dragon-only world, at least; the ones with other animals are only for funsies.. Except Skid, but eh, that's more of a coming of age of a young upstart, so the world itself isn't as important)
I guess that's all for now.. Sorry for this wall of text, but I feel like I have to provide an explanation as to why I've stopped posting for 3 years.
TLDR: AI language models can easily write fight stories for you; so I will provide more long-term stories and worldbuilding instead.

I enjoy reading your stories and I understand that it seems that AI is taking over in the terms of creativity, however, it won't be able to replace the human element that comes with that sort of thing.
I have seen several furries give up on their dreams of visual art by turning to AI models, but this is the first time I have seen a writer wanting to give up on theirs over AI so it hits in a different way.
I hope you can find a way to continue feeling confident in your own ability to create art and still post some things for others to enjoy, even if it turns out to be non-fight related material, like what you posted up today.

There’s a certain appeal the little bits of inter-story continuity between different encounters and a kind of..casualness? About how your characters brush off their fights.. You are probably the most obscure person I follow on this site and it’d be a minor shame to have this be an official bookend. Of course we’re not exactly owed your creative efforts, most story doodlers do it out of a need to scratch their creative itches after all and if the pull of that itch is aiming elsewhere that’s your prerogative.
